Adobe is now offering a simple
web-based photo editing tool based on the popular Photoshop.
Although it's far from offering the full range of functions of its desktop counterpart, it's a heavyweight in its category.
Crop, Auto Correct, Exposure, Sharpen, Sketch, Distort are just some of the effects and filters available. While the rest are pretty normal, Sketch (Dry Brush in PS) and Distort hints at its Photoshop heritage.
The editing process is extremely intuitive. There isn't any bars to move around like normal editing tools, instead a series of thumbnails will appear on top, each with a different level of the selected effect. Mousing over the thumbnail will show you the final product, and you can click on it to save it.
If you want to remove an effect, just untick the box on the left. You can also revert to the original picture at a touch of a button.
The tool is built on Adobe Flex and Flash and is currently free. You can upload your photos, or choose to grab them from Facebook, Picasa, or Photobucket. Each account comes with 2GB storage, which will be more than sufficient for the casual user.
