Economy Down, Dollar Weakens, Recession Affecting Affiliate Programs |

With the economy (US) looking towards doing a nose dive, affiliates may be in need to tweak their monetization strategies. Consider what programs will then be adversely or positively affected?
Probable Negatives
- Programs related to:-
- Luxury items & Expensive Products
- Investments
- Donations, Charity
- Tours
Probable Positives
- Discount Products - Plenty of stores out there that sells heavily discounted, clearance sale year round products.
- Programs with lots of regular coupons
- Cheap entertainment - like watch tv on the internet software
- Loans
- Porn, tobacco, liquor - higher demand for stuff that distracts you from real life
- Chocolate, Ice-cream
Some programs will get higher focus and there may also more focus on foreign affiliate programs. Especially with the weakening of the dollar
