Some news that I've read today:-
Facebook getting some heat from Jewish Settlers by listing their profile as being in 'Palestine' rather than Israel. So facebook has provided them with the function to switch back to Israel. 18 Westbank settlements will have this option.
Things to Learn: Not only do you have to be racially sensitive and historically sensitive (like the stuff with swastika and nazi memorabilias) but also geographically sensitive to warring nations.
Read about Google's comments that Microsoft buying Yahoo will be bad for the internet. Ofcourse, it should say 'Microsoft buying Yahoo will be bad for google'.. Also Microsoft chief executive Steve Ballmer seemingly express Microsoft's intention to fight tooth and nail for Google's lucrative market share in search and advertising.
Things to Ponder: Yahoo is out of the picture. It's down to Microsoft and Google. What will be the winning factor? Money (Microsoft)? or Innovation (slightly Google)?
Also Ebay is launching their own affiliate network/partner program. This means, that all the ebay store owners are gonna have eBay getting them affiliates.
Things to Expect: More merchants/affiliate program owners to consider starting ebay stores. Although it'll mean ebay transaction fees + affiliate commission + ebay network transaction fees per sale/lead.
