What is Drop Shipping?
Drop shipping is simply an arrangement in which the manufacturer or distributor of a product--not you--ships the product to your customers (also called a drop shipper). This means you can sell quality, brand-name products on your Web site, blog, or any auction site (like eBay or Amazon) for a hefty profit, while someone else takes care of shipping the product and holding and managing the inventory.
How Drop Shipping Works
Let's say Elizabeth sets up a Web site where he sells a product priced at $94. A customer visits her site, places an order, and is billed $94 plus $10 for shipping and handling. Elizibeth then logs into her Drop Ship Access account and enters the customer's order and shipping information. We route the order to the manufacturer and ensure that they pack up the customer's order and mail it out via UPS or FedEx, usually within 48 hours. We then bill Elizabeth for the wholesale price of the product--in this case, $63 plus $10 for shipping and handling.
